Gingerbread FUN

Mickey Mouse Gingerbread

Gingerbread Wolverine

We had a Gingerbread Scavenger Hunt and chased the Gingerbread Teacher!
We invited our friends over to read The Gingerbread Cowboy.
We decorated gingerbread men and women. :)

Friday was probably their favorite day ever!

Beginning of Bats

Reactions:
"Omigosh-- it's Batman."
"Woah, Ms. Seeto, a dragon!"
"A Batman?"
"O.O"

Began our Bat unit today.  Made handprints with chalk and black construction paper... placed student's pictures in the middle to make bats.  Then we wrote about what we were "batty" about.

This unit will be interesting!!

first 2 days of kindergarten

OMG. so.drained.
those k students.
they got me.
first seminar class last night.

new student today.
14 altogether.

sang new name song to the tune of "where is thumbkin?"
"Hello (child's name).  Hello (child's name).  How are you?  How are you?"
DIED when R said "good." HAHAH

introduced "David."
"Ms. Seeto, David's not brown!!"
my poor first graders don't know what hit them.
AT FIRST WE WERE AFRAID-- WE WERE PETRIFIED...
we will survive.

students LOVED this.  a little over their heads with the teacher speaking without being illustrated, but the actions by David speak to them.

first craft of the year! woop woop!
